Reagile Library joined the global community in celebrating International Literacy Day by visiting Kgalagatsane Primary School, where learners were encouraged to embrace the power of reading.
Representing the library, Rose Kgosiemang engaged learners in an interactive session highlighting the importance of literacy in both academic achievement and personal growth. She reminded learners that reading opens doors to knowledge, creativity, and opportunities that shape their future.
Kgosiemang further urged the pupils to make reading a daily habit and to take full advantage of the resources available at the Reagile Library. “Reading is not just for passing exams; it is a lifelong skill that helps you discover the world and understand yourselves better,” she said.
Teachers at the school welcomed the initiative, noting that such outreach programs motivate learners to appreciate books and develop a culture of learning. The visit formed part of Reagile Library’s ongoing literacy promotion efforts, aimed at empowering young people to thrive in education and beyond.
International Literacy Day, observed annually on 8 September, serves as a reminder of the fundamental role reading and writing play in building inclusive, informed, and sustainable societies.
