Cash-In-Transit Heist Goes Wrong in RustenbuA cash-in-transit heist in the Rustenburg CBD took a dramatic turn on Wednesday morning when an attempted robbery at Frozen Butchery on the corner of Fatima Bhayat Street and Bethlehem Drive ended in tragedy.

According to eyewitness accounts, four suspected armed robbers ambushed security guards who were offloading cash. In the chaos that followed, one of the suspects was shot in the leg during an exchange of gunfire. Realising he was cornered and unable to escape, the injured suspect reportedly turned the gun on himself.

The remaining three suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Their whereabouts are currently unknown, and police have launched a manhunt.

Law enforcement officials have cordoned off the area as investigations continue. Police are expected to release more details as the situation unfolds.
