Tlhabane West Primary Drummies Earn Protea Colours at National Ceremony

Four young athletes from Tlhabane West Primary School’s drum majorettes team were honoured with Protea Colours during the SAMCA National Cheerleading Team’s Protea Ceremony, held at De La Salle Holy Cross College Junior School in Randburg.

Nicoleen Maluleka, Larona Pooe, Tshiamo Nkele, and Oratile Mmeti received the national honours in recognition of their selection to represent South Africa and the South African Majorettes and Cheerleading Association (SAMCA) at the upcoming International Cheerleading Championships in Florida, USA.

Another learner from Sunrise View Secondary – Larona Pooe is also heading to the USA

The recognition is a proud milestone for Tlhabane West Primary School, situated in Rustenburg, North West. School principal, Dr Ditshego Tlhowe, praised the learners for their commitment and discipline, noting the achievement as a historic moment for the school.

“This achievement marks a proud moment not only for these individuals but for our entire school community,” said Dr Tlhowe.

The four learners will now prepare to join the national squad as they carry the South African flag at the global championships, representing both their school and country with pride.

The Tlhabane West Primary School community has extended its warm congratulations, expressing full support for the girls as they take the international stage.
