The AmaHlubi nation gathered in Khaya Khulu today, where Nkosi VN Zibi (Aah Zanokuhle) led a vibrant Heritage Month celebration today – Saturday 20 September 2025, paying tribute to the rich isiHlubi legacy while strengthening unity, cultural pride, and the preservation of heritage.

The ceremony drew an esteemed audience, including the Chair of the North West House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders (NWHTKL), Kgosi Thari Maotwe of Barokologadi. Other distinguished traditional leaders in attendance included Mogale of Bapo, Matlapeng of Molatedi, Mathope of Mathopestadt, Morena Tsajoa of Maboloka, Gopane of Gopane, Mahlangu of Thembelethu, as well as Sefanyetso of Seolong and Sefanyetso of Maubane. The AmaHlubi Royal family and representatives from government also graced the occasion.

The festivities reflected a deep sense of pride in the isiHlubi heritage, as traditional dancers captivated the audience with powerful performances that celebrated the community’s customs and values.

Speaking at the event, Nkosi Zibi emphasized the importance of honoring the past while ensuring that future generations embrace and safeguard the isiHlubi identity. He called on the nation to continue fostering unity among traditional communities, noting that culture remains a cornerstone of social cohesion and resilience.
