Ben Gumbi Murder Suspect to know his fate today

Suspect in Ben Gumbi murder Sibongiseni Ngubane expected to appear this morning before Magistrate Tshenolo Mekgoe for the ruling on his bail application. In his appearance on Monday, Ngubane revealed that he was hired as a driver to transport people from Johannesburg to Rustenburg on the day Gumbi was murdered.

He said he was paid R15000 for the trip. State is opposing his bail, citing his life is in danger. Investigating Officer in the matter Patrick Murongwa had previously given evidence that at the time of his arrest, Ngubane had asked that he and his family, including his mother, father, two partners and five children be taken under witness protection because the people he worked with to carry out the hit, were very dangerous
