Brooksby Flood Victims Remembered

North West Department of Social Development will on Monday, 17 November 2022, observe the United Nations sanctioned International Day for the Eradication of Poverty at Brooksby village, Mahikeng, a village that suffered flood damages earlier this year. 

By observing this day, which is held every year on 17 October, government continues to extend social protection, food and nutrition security for sustainable livelihood for communities through programmes.

As part of the observance of poverty eradication day, various government departments and state owned entities will render on-site services to the residents. Humanitarian assistance in the form of grocery hampers will be provided to some households have been profiled in the area.
