COGTA North West Leads Efforts to Enhance Service Delivery with Moretele and Bojanala Municipalities

In a significant step towards enhancing service delivery and accountability in North West province, the Head of Department (HOD) for the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Dr. Ben Bole, presided over the signing-off Improvement Protocol ceremony at the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality Council Chamber this morning – 11 March 2024.

The primary objective of the ceremony was to formalize commitments aimed at ensuring effective and efficient service delivery by supporting and capacitating local and district municipalities across the province.

The event commenced with Dr. Auchalie Mothupi, Acting Municipal Manager of Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, being the first to sign the Improvement Protocol. This symbolic gesture was followed by Mr. Sipho Ngwenya, Municipal Manager of Moretele Local Municipality, underscoring a unified commitment towards achieving shared goals.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Bole emphasized the importance of accountability and transparency in fulfilling municipal obligations. “The ultimate purpose of this signing of Improvement Protocol is to hold one another honestly accountable as we perform our mandatory duties,” remarked Dr. Bole.

The Improvement Protocol signifies a collaborative effort between municipalities to work towards common objectives, address challenges, and improve service delivery for the benefit of communities across the province.

Through this initiative, COGTA North West aims to foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and excellence within local and district municipalities, ultimately striving towards the betterment of the lives of all residents in the region.

As the signing ceremony concludes, stakeholders look forward to the implementation of the Improvement Protocol, confident that it will pave the way for positive transformation and sustainable development in North West province.
