COUNCILLOR ELSIE MAMOEKETSI KGAUTLE, LAID TO REST

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, the community of Sephai, Madibeng Local Municipality bid farewell to a remarkable leader as they laid to rest Councillor Elsie Mamoeketsi Kgautle, the Single Whip of the Council of Madibeng Local Municipality and councillor of Ward 1.

The funeral service was a poignant moment of reflection on Councillor Kgautle’s impactful life, marked by her unwavering dedication to politics and governance in Madibeng. Her legacy was celebrated, particularly her active involvement in community initiatives and her advocacy for the wellbeing and empowerment of women.

Speaking at the service, the Speaker of Council in Madibeng, Councillor Ditshego Mbezi, praised Councillor Kgautle’s diligence and humility, emphasizing her respectful collaboration with her colleagues.

Representing the Executive Mayor of Madibeng Local Muncipality, Councillor Feni Motepe, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Public Safety, Fleet, and Facilities Management, extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the municipality, underscoring the profound loss felt by the community.

The funeral was attended by dignitaries from various spheres of government, including Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Phillemon Mapulane; MEC for Finance in the North West, Matlalepula Rosho; MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management in the North West, Sello Lehari; Acting Mayor of Bojanala District Municipality, Councillor Victoria Makgaula; Executive Mayor of Rustenburg, Shiela Mabale-Huma; and former Executive Mayor of Madibeng, Jostina Mothibe, among others.

As Councillor Elsie Mamoeketsi Kgautle was laid to rest, her memory will continue to inspire future generations to strive for positive change and community development in Madibeng and beyond.
