The late Councillor Mamoeketsi Elsie Kgautle, a revered figure in Madibeng Local Municipality, will be laid to rest on Saturday in Sephai village. Her memorial service is scheduled to take place at the Brits Town Hall on Thursday, 14 March 2024. Councillor Kgautle passed away last Thursday after bravely battling illness.

Paul Sebegoe, Chief Whip of the African National Congress (ANC) in the North West Provincial Legislature (NWPL), extended heartfelt condolences to the Kgautle family upon learning of her passing. Councillor Kgautle, formerly the ANC Bojanala Women’s League Secretary and Single Whip of the Madibeng Local Municipality, left an indelible mark on the community.
Describing her as a selfless revolutionary cadre and gender activist, Sebegoe highlighted Kgautle’s unwavering commitment to rural development and her role as a unifier within the community. He emphasized her dedication to serving the people and her inspirational leadership.

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Comrade Elsie Kgautle, whose activism within our revolutionary movement and structures of the ANC women’s league was characterized by consistency, passion, unwavering commitment, and dedication,” expressed Sebegoe on behalf of the ANC Caucus in the NWPL and the Provincial Chief Whip’s Forum.
Kgautle’s legacy of selflessness and integrity will be remembered by all who knew her. Her contribution to collective leadership and her adherence to the ANC’s core values will be greatly missed.
As Madibeng mourns the loss of a true servant of the people, Councillor Mamoeketsi Elsie Kgautle’s impact on the community will continue to inspire generations to come.
