Deputy President Paul Mashatile to visit Rustenburg this Friday

Deputy President Paulus Mashatile is set to officiate the launch of Phase 3 of the Accelerated Service Delivery – Thuntsha Lerole Programme on Friday, 15 March 2024, in Tlhabane, Rustenburg.

The Thuntsha Lerole Programme, spearheaded by the North West Provincial Government, aims to address critical service delivery issues in communities by fostering partnerships with the government, private sector, and civil society organizations.

Assigned by President Ramaphosa to oversee the rollout of the District Development Model, Deputy President Mashatile will coordinate various spheres of government to improve municipal functioning and address community service delivery concerns.

Having previously visited Seking Village in the greater Taung Local Municipality, Deputy President Mashatile engaged with government departments to accelerate service delivery strategies effectively.

During his upcoming visit to Rustenburg Municipality, the Deputy President will officiate the handover of the newly built Seraleng Primary School in Paardekraal, constructed at a cost of approximately R26.5 million. The school boasts modern amenities, including a science laboratory, a computer room, and multipurpose classrooms, aiming to enhance access to quality education.

Additionally, Deputy President Mashatile will unveil a state-of-the-art X-ray machine at the Tlhabane Community Health Centre, aiming to alleviate healthcare access challenges for local residents.

Addressing the persistent issue of sewer blockages, a completed sewer network project will be handed over in the Boitekong area, alongside the initiation of a water and sewer project in Tlhabane Township.

Concluding his visit, Deputy President Mashatile will deliver remarks at a community meeting held at the Tlhabane Stadium, emphasizing the government’s commitment to improving service delivery and fostering community development in Rustenburg Municipality.
