The South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) in the North West on Monday expressed shock regarding the death of a rising star in politics, Dikago Pule who died in a horrific crash hours after being elected African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) Treasurer in Ngaka Modiri Molema over the weekend.

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely death of one of the young influential leaders that had great potential to reposition the ANCYL to be a formidable force for youth development. The confidence that delegates that attended the ANCYL Regional General Council had unanimously expressed in him was an indication that he was part of a leadership cohort that was going to reshape the youth league to impact the lives of young people across the region and province,” highlighted SANCO Provincial Chairperson, Paul Sebegoe.
Sebegoe in expressing condolence to the Pule family, his comrades and colleagues said that the death of Pule has robbed the province and the country of a young, courageous and dynamic revolutionary because of his willingness to learn.
“He represented a new generation of leaders required to entrench unity and renewal not only in the ANCYL but across the revolutionary alliance,” he stressed.

He said that Pule’s meteoric rise and popularity within structures of ANCYL and the ANC was based on a sound ideological foundation that was laid during his South African Students Congress (SASCO) and the Progressive Youth Alliance activism at the North West University.

“His exposure to the challenges of governance and accountability he had gained in his role as a Legislative Officer (Parliamentary Liaison Officer) for the MEC for Public Works and Roads would have contributed to his development and empowerment for a future role he was destined to play,” underscored Sebegoe.
Sebegoe added that Pule’s death is an epic loss to the cause of young people in particular and the revolutionary alliance in general.
“A reflection on his organisational involvement and activism since the #FeesMustFallProtest at tertiary institution attests to the fact that he has left behind indelible footprints that were growing in size. His political consciousness showed that he had a firm grasp of the strategic objective of the National Democratic Revolution and the ANC’s Strategy and Tactics,” he underscored.
