Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the brutal kidnapping and murder of 26-year-old Lesego Klaas Makaku in the Sangiro informal settlement.

After the assault, the attackers allegedly dragged Makaku to the nearby dam, where he was thrown into the water. Authorities were alerted to the incident, prompting a swift investigation that led to the apprehension of the five suspects.

The suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges of kidnapping and murder. Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that further arrests may follow.

This incident underscores the persistent issue of mob violence in communities and highlights the urgent need for public education and trust-building between citizens and law enforcement.

Police have urged anyone with additional information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
