Four Suspects to Appear in Tlhabane Magistrates’ Court for Stolen Vehicle and Firearm Possession

Four suspects, aged between 22 and 27, are set to appear before the Tlhabane Magistrates’ Court today, facing charges of possession of a suspected stolen vehicle, an unlicensed firearm, and ammunition.

The court appearance follows an incident on Tuesday morning, 15 October 2024, when members of the Rustenburg Flying Squad and Rustenburg K9 Unit responded to information provided by Tracker South Africa. This led law enforcement to Tantanana Cattle Post in Phokeng, where they recovered a stolen Toyota Quantum that was in the process of being stripped.

In addition to the stolen vehicle, a search of a Volkswagen Polo at the scene revealed an unlicensed firearm and ammunition hidden under the driver’s seat.

The four suspects were arrested on the spot and are now facing multiple charges related to the stolen vehicle and possession of illegal firearms.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine if the suspects are linked to other criminal activities in the area.
