Impala Rustenburg Invests Over R20 Million in Social and Labour Plan Projects

Impala Rustenburg has handed over several Social and Labour Plan (SLP) Projects valued at over R20 million to various stakeholders, including the Royal Bafokeng Administration, the North West Department of Education, and the Rustenburg Local Municipality.

Among the projects handed over was the Matale Primary School, a R6 million initiative that saw the construction of four classrooms along with storage rooms. Additionally, the Moremogolo Primary School received a R5 million upgrade, which included the construction of two Grade RR classrooms, installation of ablution facilities, refurbishment of play areas, landscaping, and paving.

Other notable projects included the renovation of classrooms, upgrading of ablution facilities, and the Seraleng Roads and stormwater project, costing R5 million and R6.5 million respectively.

Speaking at the handover event, Impala Rustenburg CE, Moses Motlhageng, highlighted that the projects created over 100 job opportunities and empowered local small businesses. Motlhageng urged learners to take care of the facilities, emphasizing Impala Rustenburg’s commitment to working with local communities to improve their lives.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Rustenburg Local Municipality Executive Mayor, Sheila Mabale-Huma, who called on other mining houses in Rustenburg to assist the municipality with initiatives such as housing projects. Also present were representatives from the North West Department of Education, the Bojanala District Department of Education, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), and the Royal Bafokeng Institute.

The handover underscores Impala Rustenburg’s dedication to fulfilling its social responsibilities and contributing to the development of the communities in which it operates.
