The much-anticipated Impala Rustenburg Career Expo is back this year, promising to make a significant impact on more than 2,200 students from 14 high schools across the company’s neighboring communities. Running from August 1 to August 26, the expo aims to inspire Grade 11 students by showcasing the vast array of career opportunities available within the broader mining industry.

Since its inception, the Impala Career Expo has been a cornerstone of youth empowerment in the region, offering valuable insights and opportunities in mining-related careers. The expo has consistently influenced thousands of learners, helping them to refine their ambitions and prepare for successful futures.
This year, the expo continues its mission by targeting Grade 11 students, who are at a crucial stage in their education and are beginning to plan their post-matriculation paths. Attendees can expect a dynamic, technology-driven experience, including immersive virtual reality tours of underground mines and interactive sessions that provide a first-hand look at various professions within the mining industry.

Beyond exploring career possibilities, the expo will highlight Impala’s extensive youth empowerment programs. These initiatives include on-the-job training, graduate internships across multiple disciplines, specialized learnerships in key job categories, cadet programs designed to develop essential mining skills, and enterprise and supplier development efforts aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs from local communities.
