Lerato Kgaswane Foundation Offers Learners Path to Discipline and Hope Through Upcoming Camp

The fight against drug abuse and addiction took a hopeful turn in Tsitsing when the Lerato Kgaswane Foundation hosted an awareness campaign at Mmanape Secondary School on Friday 19 September 2025$, announcing a life-changing opportunity for learners to attend a disciplinary camp in October.

The initiative, led in partnership with The Raising Star Generation, aims to help young people confront destructive habits and build a foundation for better decision-making.

During the event, Prince Motlou, founder of The Raising Star Generation, inspired learners with a powerful motivational talk about the realities of life and the importance of making positive choices. In his address, he pledged to offer some learners a 40% discount to attend his programs, while one learner, Mmampho, would attend the October disciplinary camp free of charge.

Foundation founder Lerato Kgaswane said the camp would be an extension of the day’s message: “We need to understand what each child is going through and give them the support they need. The camp will provide a safe space for learners to reflect, learn discipline, and make better choices for their future.”

Parents and teachers welcomed the initiative with gratitude. A parent who spoke during the event shared how her daughter had already changed for the better through the foundation’s support. Deputy Principal Kgomotso Mmowa also commended both organizations for giving learners practical tools and encouragement to stay away from drugs and peer pressure.

The event was opened by Kgosana Oageng Motepe wa Kgotla ya Napo, who stressed the importance of guiding children early in life. His call for community involvement set the tone for the campaign, which highlighted that drug abuse can only be defeated through collective effort.

With the disciplinary camp set for October, the Lerato Kgaswane Foundation and The Raising Star Generation hope to turn awareness into action, shaping disciplined, resilient young people who can lead the community into a brighter future.
