Liugong Machinery South Africa Launches Water Donation Project in Moses Kotane

Liugong Machinery South Africa has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing clean, safe, and reliable water to rural areas in the Moses Kotane local municipality. Under the theme “One Village at a Time,” the company launched its water project donation on recently alongside the introduction of its most advanced intelligent and Green machinery.

The project, a collaboration between Liugong Machinery and the Moses Kotane local municipality, aims to alleviate water shortages in the municipality’s rural communities. This initiative reflects the commitment of both the private and public sectors to address pressing social and environmental challenges.

Speaking at the launch event, . LI YI, General Manager of Liugong Machinery SA, emphasized the importance of collaboration between different sectors. “This partnership between us and the local government demonstrates that, despite differences in culture and race, our communities will gain a great deal if we work together to create a bright future for South Africa,” affirmed Li Yi.

The Mayor of the Moses Kotane local municipality, Nketu Nkotswe, expressed gratitude for the initiative, highlighting the significant impact it would have on the lives of many residents. With 107 villages and just two semi-townships facing water interruptions, the water project, scheduled to commence on May 13, 2024, is greatly anticipated.

China’s support for South African infrastructure and sustainability was also underscored during the event. R Jiang, General of China, emphasized China’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and investment in South Africa’s development.

Pan QingJiang, the recently appointed Consul General in China-Johannesburg, stressed the importance of strengthening ties between China and South Africa for long-term sustainable growth and improved living conditions for all.

The launch of Liugong Machinery’s water donation project marks a significant step towards ensuring access to clean and reliable drinking water for communities in the Moses Kotane local municipality, demonstrating the power of collaboration in addressing critical societal needs.
