Madibeng Municipality Invests in New Earth Moving Machines for Landfill Operations

In a bid to enhance landfill operations and accelerate service delivery, the Executive Mayor of Madibeng Local Municipality, Douglas Maimane, officially handed over new earth moving machines to workers at the Hartbeesfontein Landfill Site today – 07 May 2024.

The municipality has procured a new excavator machine and a new front loader for the purpose of improving landfill operations. Accompanied by key officials including the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Public Safety, Fleet and Facility Management (PSFFM), Feni Motepe, Acting Municipal Manager Morufa Moloto, Director for Community Services Ms. Nelly Rampete, Director for PSFFM Moses Khoza, and other municipal officials, the Executive Mayor highlighted the significance of investing in the municipality’s own fleet to save costs and expedite service delivery.

“The acquisition of these new earth moving machines underscores our commitment to efficient waste management and service provision,” stated Mayor Maimane. “Investing in our own fleet not only reduces operational costs but also ensures that we have the necessary resources to meet the needs of our community effectively.”

The addition of the excavator machine and front loader is expected to streamline operations at the Hartbeesfontein Landfill Site, improving waste management processes and ultimately enhancing environmental sustainability in the region.

This initiative aligns with the municipality’s broader goals of modernizing infrastructure and optimizing resources to meet the growing demands of its residents.
