North West MEC for Social Development, Basetsana Sussana Dantjie, visited Deelpan Village today under Tswaing Local Municipality to award certificates of completion to unemployed youth who participated in the Youth Development Programme.

A total of 50 young people from Deelpan were enrolled in the skills development programme, which focused on security services and driving lessons. Of these, 23 youth completed training in security services, while 27 successfully finished their driving lessons.

The security services trainees completed their qualifications in security grades E, D, and C, and all have submitted applications to the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA). The driving programme participants have all obtained their driver’s licenses.

This initiative, led by the North West Department of Social Development, aims to address the skills development gap and tackle unemployment among the youth of Deelpan. By equipping them with these crucial skills, the department hopes to improve their employment prospects and empower them to contribute to the local economy.
MEC Dantjie praised the youth for their dedication and encouraged them to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by these new qualifications.
