North West MEC for Cooperative Governance and Human Settlements, Nono Maloyi will
on Wednesday 23 November 2022 lead a joint technical team on Ditsobotla on a visit to
Lafarge cement factory in the Ditsobotla Local Municipality.
The meeting aims to make the business community aware of developments that are made
by the Administrator Mr. Radinaledi Mosiane and his team in the Municipality after it was
disbanded.
MEC Maloyi will be accompanied by MEC for the Department of Finance Motlalepula
Rosho and MEC Sello Lehari of Community Safety and Transport Management.
MEC Maloyi says this is an important step as there has never been real engagements
with the business community in Ditsobotla following the decision by the Provincial
Executive Committee to place the Municipal Council under section 139 (1) (c) of the
constitution. This has led to many businesses adopting a wait and see approach and
then neglecting to pay the municipal accounts, so we have to open a communication line
with them and restore confidence in the ability of Government to take charge and lead in
Ditsobotla.
