Moretele Park Tribute Concert Celebrates 25 Years of Musical Excellence

In a jubilant celebration of South African music and culture, the Moretele Park Tribute Concert is set to mark its 25th anniversary on Saturday, October 7, 2023. The stage is poised to come alive with a dazzling array of musical talent, featuring renowned artists such as Zonke, Makhadzi, Mafikizolo, Master KG, Nomfundo More, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Vusi Mahlasela, Ma Joy, Dino, Quincy K, and the iconic Condry Ziqubu.

The brainchild behind this remarkable musical extravaganza, Dr. Sam Mangwani, founder, and executive producer of the Tribute Concert, formerly known as the South African Tribute to Music Heroes Concert, promises an electrifying fusion of sounds and melodies. “It’s going to be fireworks of music and dance,” says Dr. Mangwani.

In addition to the star-studded lineup, this year’s event will witness the inauguration of the Tribute Concert Legends Band. This musical ensemble is dedicated to honoring South African music legends, such as Hugh Masekela, Jonas Gwangwa, Miriam Makeba, Brenda Fasi, Tsepo Tshola, Jabu Khanyile, and Busi Mhlongo, whose timeless melodies have resonated with generations.

Dr. Mangwani expressed gratitude, stating, “We are very thankful to our Government, especially the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture, the National Arts Council, the City of Tshwane, and all other sponsors, as well as stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, who have stood behind this event for 25 years.”
