Eighty-seven individuals from Mothutlung in the Madibeng Local Municipality have finally received the title deeds to the properties they have called home for years. Acting Executive Mayor of Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, Victoria Makhaula, and Executive Mayor of Madibeng Local Municipality, Douglas Maimane, presented the long-awaited deeds to the jubilant recipients on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the packed community hall.

This significant milestone was achieved as part of the ongoing Thuntsha Lerole Accelerated Service Delivery Program, which takes place every Friday across the Bojanala District. The program encompasses a range of service delivery activities aimed at improving the lives of residents in various villages, townships, and suburban areas.
Among the services provided during the program are the refurbishment of boreholes, energizing of high-mast lights, maintenance of stormwater and drainage systems, grass cutting, clearing of illegal dumping sites, and the registration of indigents. Additionally, on-site applications by the Home Affairs Department and SASSA for various documentations and social grants are facilitated.

Notably, thousands of title deeds have been handed over to rightful owners of properties throughout the district as part of this initiative. The Accelerated Service Delivery Program is set to continue throughout the year and beyond, ensuring consistent service delivery to communities residing in the district.
The program holds particular significance as South Africa celebrates thirty years of freedom and democracy. It underscores the commitment of local authorities to address the needs of residents and empower them through property ownership, contributing to the nation’s ongoing journey towards social and economic equality.
