New Look Aganang Fm celebrate new studios

The Media Development & Diversity Agency (MDDA) continues to bring hope in the North West Media Industry. The agency handed over  new studios to the Aganang Fm community on Friday, 23 September 2022. 

Led by Hoosain Karjieker, an MDDA Board member, unveiled the brand-new state-of-the-art broadcast studios at Aganang FM 90.0, in Potchefstroom, JB Marks Local Municipality, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, North West. 

Upon cutting the ribbon, MDDA board, Karjieker congratulated Aganang FM on their accomplishments, perseverance, and resilience within the community media sector. He also reflected on MDDA’s history within the North West province, the agency has funded 17 community radio stations in the province.

“Well done to all of you. Continue to serve as a vehicle for development and transformation in your community.”

The Board Chairperson of Aganang FM,  Rathata Matabane said he was very glad that the studio unveiling is taking place on the Heritage Day weekend, a true showing that Aganang FM is the platform for the community of JB Marks Municipality to converse with each other.

“We need to come together as people and talk to each other, listen to each other for the betterment of our community. Going forward, we will be telling more of our stories. We will now be setting the agenda and controlling the narrative. The communities should set the agenda and the station is the conduit and platform for that”.
