The North West Department of Education, under the leadership of MEC for Education, Ms. Viola Motsumi, has taken decisive action today by suspending a school principal and a circuit manager in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District.
Both individuals have been served with precautionary suspension letters pending a thorough investigation into allegations of mismanagement related to the Department’s recruitment process within the Tshing Circuit. These allegations, initially brought to light by media reports, revolve around potential solicitation or facilitation of funds in exchange for influence in the recruitment process.

The Department emphasizes its commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process. MEC Motsumi stated, “We are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process that upholds the highest ethical standards. As such, an independent investigation I have tasked into these allegations have commenced.”
In response to the situation, an acting principal has been appointed to maintain stability and leadership at the affected school during the investigation. MEC Motsumi also expressed her dedication to protecting the whistleblower involved in reporting these allegations.
