North West Gears Up for U/17 Softball Team Selection Ahead of NSSC 2025

The Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation (ACSR), in partnership with the North West Softball Association (NWSA), will host the provincial U/17 softball team selection this coming Saturday, September 20, at Hoërskool Hartbeespoort in the Bojanala District.

The trials will bring together promising young athletes from across the province’s four districts, where a 34-member squad, including players, coaches, and managers, will be selected. The final team will carry the North West flag at the 2025 National School Sport Championships (NSSC).

According to the organizers, the programme forms part of the province’s commitment to nurturing grassroots sporting talent and preparing athletes for national and international platforms.

The NSSC remains one of South Africa’s premier platforms for identifying future sports stars, with many athletes moving on to professional and national teams. North West is expected to make a strong showing this year, with preparations already underway to ensure competitive participation.
