NORTH WEST HEALTH CONGRATULATES ITS FORMER MEC

The North West Department of Health through MEC Madoda Sambatha has congratulated its former MEC Dr Magome Masike for his appointment as the new Registrar/CEO of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Dr Masike’s appointment was announced on Friday, 28 April by the Minister of Health, Dr Joe Phaahla.

Dr Masike was a Member of Executive Council (MEC) responsible for Health in the North-West Province from 2010 to 2018.

“Congratulations to Dr Magome Masike on his appointment to lead this important health professionals body. I believe he will add immense value to the organisation. The Department wishes him well and believes his presence at the helm of HPCSA will strengthen its relationship with the Department”, said MEC Madoda Sambatha.

The Department believes the mandate of the HPSA which is to regulate and guide registered healthcare professions and protect the public is in good hands. This mandate is necessary for advancement of the National Health Insurance (NHI), a government policy and programme which seeks to realise universal health coverage for all South Africans. Dr Masike will advance this mandate and work the Department of Health to make it possible.
