North West Premier Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi to Deliver Maiden Address at NWPL Opening

The North West Premier, Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi, is set to deliver his inaugural address during the official opening of the North West Provincial Legislature (NWPL) on Thursday, 25 July 2024. The event will be presided over by the Speaker of the NWPL, Desbo Mohono, and will take place at the Mmabatho Stadium Parking Lot, starting at 09h00.

In his address, Premier Mokgosi will outline the 7th Administration’s plans and priorities for service delivery, focusing on the critical issues of poverty, unemployment, and inequality. The Premier is expected to detail initiatives aimed at socio-economic renewal and nation-building, which are essential themes under the banner of “The Year of Unity, Socio-Economic Renewal, and Nation Building.”

The Premier will also highlight the provincial government’s investment strategies designed to stimulate economic growth in the North West province. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to attract investments, boost local businesses, and create job opportunities.

The opening ceremony will be attended by a diverse group of guests and stakeholders, including Members of the Provincial Legislature, members of the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders, religious leaders, ambassadors, private sector representatives, community members, and the media. This gathering underscores the collaborative effort required to tackle the province’s socio-economic challenges and drive sustainable development.
