In a moment of triumph for North West Province, MEC for Education, Viola Motsumi, proudly announced that the region secured the fourth position in the National Matric Results with an impressive 81.63% pass rate. The announcement took place at the Sun City Resort, where MEC Motsumi expressed her determination to ascend to the top, with Western Cape as the first victim and setting her sights on surpassing Gauteng next.

The breakdown of the matric results revealed a notable achievement for the North West School for the Deaf, which saw a remarkable increase from a 0% pass rate in 2022 to a commendable 66% in 2023.
Diverse Success in Matric Categories
The matric results for 2023 showcased a positive trend, with 32 schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate, compared to 26 in the previous year. Additionally, 275 schools achieved a pass rate ranging from 80 to 99%, demonstrating an overall improvement from the 234 schools in 2022.
