North West Provincial Government Is Hiring: 160 Jobs Advertised – 100 000 to be created

The North West Provincial Government has officially begun its ambitious plan to create over 100,000 jobs within the next five years. Over the weekend, the government advertised more than 160 vacant positions across provincial departments, marking the first phase of its large-scale recruitment effort.

This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of the North West Provincial Government to deliver critical services, while opening up opportunities for capable professionals, youth, graduates, and women.

Premier Kagiso Lazarus Mokgosi highlighted that the recruitment drive is not only a step towards building a more capable state but also a concerted effort to combat unemployment in the province, particularly among young graduates. “We are embarking on a developmental trajectory that is aimed at capacitating the state and will see to the full implementation of the plans we have set out for ourselves in the seventh administration. But of critical importance is to take a lead as government in job creation,” Premier Mokgosi stated.

The Premier urged residents to take advantage of the available positions, which have been advertised in both national and provincial newspapers. Full listings can also be found on the North West Provincial Government’s website (www.nwpg.gov.za) and the Department of Public Service and Administration’s website (www.dpsa.gov.za).

The job creation effort will be driven by the province’s Growth and Development Strategy, which will be overseen by the newly established Investment and Economic Advisory Council. Sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and construction are expected to provide the bulk of the projected 100,000 jobs over the next five years.

Premier Mokgosi also stressed the importance of involving the private sector in addressing the province’s unemployment crisis. “The creation of jobs must be a multifaceted approach which must include the private sector. We initiated engagements with various stakeholders on how best we can respond to the astronomical figures of unemployment in the province, and I believe that all our efforts will yield desired results,” he concluded.

This recruitment drive represents a major step in the North West Provincial Government’s efforts to revitalize the local economy and reduce unemployment, particularly among the youth.
