Boikhutso village outside Ventersdorp mourned the loss of Provincial Inspector Motshidisi Mokotedi, who was laid to rest today – 05 January 2024. Mokotedi, a dedicated officer attached to the Eagles Unit of the traffic Directorate, allegedly fell victim to a heinous crime a week before Christmas.
The funeral at her family home, drew a somber crowd, including the senior management of the Department, HOD Dr. Hans Kekana, Chief Director Molefi Morule, and fellow traffic officers from all districts.

North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, vowed to pursue justice vigorously. In his address at the funeral, Lehari affirmed, “Perpetrators of this heinous crime will face the full might of the law. We will ensure that this case is followed to the latter, and the department will continue engaging the family, providing support throughout the process.”
Expressing concern over the brutality towards women, children, and the vulnerable, Lehari condemned Mokotedi’s untimely demise, stating, “Our society has no place for this kind of brutality.”

Mokotedi’s lifeless body was discovered when she failed to report for duty. The police, alerted by her colleagues during a search mission, found her. Paul Stone, the Road Traffic Management Director, reminisced about Mokotedi’s dedication, saying, “Officer Mokotedi was a dedicated official, with over a decade of service. Her path was always set for greater heights.”
As the community bids farewell to Motshidisi Mokotedi, the quest for justice remains at the forefront, with MEC Lehari ensuring that her tragic end does not go unpunished.
