Pella NPO to host fundraiser to help fight GBV in Sun City

By Nyakallo Mosala

The hidden financial cost of gender-based violence to South Africa runs into billions. The effect it has on lives and communities is even more far reaching. It is for this reason that a rural village based non-profit organization dreams of seeing the end of gender-based violence. Praised and Salvation Foundation which is a Pella Village registered charity non-profit making initiative, has committed to intensify and accelerate efforts to achieve the elimination of all forms of violence against women and children with more focus on victim empowerment.

The foundation has planned a fundraising gala dinner in Sun City with the main aim generating funds, build social cohesion and promote the spirit of patriotic philanthropism in the wilderness where social and economic challenges are experienced.

Among the speakers and guest expected on the night are University of Cape Town’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Mamokgethi Phakeng, former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela and Sheena Swemmer who is head of Gender Justice at the Centre for Applied Legal Studies at Wits University.

The event will be held at the Sun City Superbowl on 22nd October 2022. Tickets are sold at Computicket for R 2 500 per seat and R 25 000 for a table of 10.
