POLICE SEEK JUSTICE FOR WOMAN FOUND MURDERED IN HER NKANENG HOME

Police in Marikana have launched an intensive manhunt following the gruesome murder of a 50-year-old woman who was found dead in her home at Nkaneng, Wonderkop, on Saturday morning, 12 October 2025.

According to police reports, the woman was discovered by her husband upon his return from work. Preliminary investigations revealed that she had been suffocated with a plastic bag, and her hands were tied behind her back with an electrical cord. The house appeared to have been broken into, and the scene showed clear signs of a violent struggle.

Members of the Local Criminal Record Centre attended the scene and collected several items believed to have been used in the commission of the crime for forensic analysis.

While the motive for the killing remains unclear, investigators have not ruled out the possibility of sexual assault. No arrests have been made at this stage, and police continue to follow all available leads.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi, urged members of the public to assist law enforcement in bringing the perpetrator(s) to justice.
