Police Seek Public’s Help to Arrest Luka Village Murder and Carjacking Suspects

Police in Phokeng are calling on the public to assist in identifying and arresting suspects involved in a brutal murder and carjacking that occurred just before midnight at Ramakatswana Section, Luka Village.

According to reports, a 30-year-old man was attacked outside his rented residence when he arrived in his Volkswagen Golf 7. As he stepped out to open the gate, he was ambushed by an unknown number of suspects traveling in two vehicles. The attackers physically assaulted him before shooting him twice in the chest.

The victim was rushed to a nearby mine hospital but, sadly, succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, his stolen vehicle was later found abandoned at Lusikisiki informal settlement. A fully loaded 9mm magazine was recovered at the crime scene.

Police have not yet identified the perpetrators or established the motive behind the attack. They are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
