In a recent development, North West Premier Kaobitsa Bushy Maape is set to return to his official duties after a period of medical leave. The Premier had taken ill following a minor orthopedic surgery earlier this year and was subsequently advised by his medical team to take a rest while receiving medical attention.
After months of recuperation and medical care, Premier Maape has received the green light from his medical professionals, indicating that he has made a sufficient recovery to resume his role as the head of North West Province. His return to office is scheduled for November 13, 2023.
During his absence, the North West Provincial Government has been under the stewardship of Acting Premier, Nono Maloyi who has ensured the continuity of governance and services to the people of the province. The Premier expressed his gratitude to his colleagues in the North West Executive Council and all stakeholders for their unwavering support and well wishes during his recovery.
In a statement, Office of the Premier said details regarding Premier Maape’s upcoming program and engagements with stakeholders will be communicated in due course.
