The Rustenburg Local Municipality played host to a solemn Easter Prayer Session on Tuesday at the Rustenburg Civic Centre, drawing together various church fraternities, members of the public, and law enforcement officials in a unified call for divine protection and guidance.
Among the dignitaries present from the municipality were Members of Mayoral Committee (MMCs), including Cllr Thabang Rampou, responsible for Technical and Infrastructure Services; Cllr Virginia Mputle, in charge of Public Safety; and Cllr Selebaleng Pule, overseeing Integrated Development Planning. MMC Pule had the honor of delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Executive Mayor Cllr Shiela Mabale-Huma.
The primary objective of the event was to rally prayer support for Rustenburg and intercede for the community ahead of the Easter Weekend celebrations. As the nation gears up for the Easter festivities, which typically involve increased travel and communal gatherings, the prayer session aimed to invoke divine protection and guidance for all residents and travelers.
In his address, MMC Pule emphasized the importance of road safety during the Easter period, urging community members to observe traffic rules diligently and remain vigilant on the roads. With road traffic accidents posing a significant risk during festive seasons, MMC Pule stressed the need for heightened awareness and responsible behavior to mitigate the occurrence of road crashes and fatalities.
