The highly anticipated Matlosana Hello Festival was officially launched on Thursday, 2 October 2025, at the Rio Hotel Casino in Klerksdorp. The festival, scheduled for 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026, is set to usher in the New Year with world-class entertainment, cultural celebration, and opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

Directed by renowned program directors Somizi Mhlongo and Moagi Kodisang, the festival promises an unforgettable experience, blending music, food, arts, and culture in a vibrant two-day celebration.

Speaking at the launch, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Executive Mayor, Cllr Nikiwe Naam, said the festival reflects the importance of celebrating community values and traditions.

“Events like this are just a reminder to say we must take a break and celebrate our culture and heritage,” she said.
Acting Deputy Director-General of Sports, Arts, and Culture, Sibusiso Tsanyane, highlighted the festival’s economic and developmental impact.

“Job creation remains a primary objective for our department, and initiatives like the Hello Festive Project are instrumental in creating a creative platform for young artists and entrepreneurs,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Matlosana Local Municipality Mayor, Cllr Fikile Matlhophe, emphasized the city’s role as a hub for large-scale events.
“Matlosana is the central place for many events, and the Matlosana Hello Festival is a fantastic opportunity for SMMEs to showcase their talents and grow their businesses,” she said.

The festival will feature live performances, food markets, and entertainment zones, positioning Matlosana as a premier destination for festive season celebrations.
