Voting for Top Five underway at the ANC North West Conference

The much anticipated announcement of the top 5 delegates for the North West Province is expected to be done this evening. Obed Bapela, who is the national executive committee deployee to the province said the conference will reconvene between 25 and 27 August for to allow for the nomination and voting of additional members. “The majority view that is emerging is that we need to start the vote of the top five today and adjourn the conference to when the nominations of the additional members will then be concluded at an adjourned date” said Bapela.

The nominees for the top 5:
Chairperson – Bushy Maape and Nono Maloyi
Deputy Chairperson – Lazzy Mogotsi and Paul Sebego
Secretary – Louis Diremelo and Keneetswe Mosenogi
Deputy Secretary – Viola Motsumi, Bitsa Lenkopane and Motlalepula Rosho
Treasurer – Sello Lehari and Linah Miga

The voting process has begun.

Bapela said tonight’s proceedings will not be closed by President Cyril Ramphosa as had been expected, but he will instead close the conference to be held in two weeks.
