The Executive Mayor of Bojanala Platinum District Municipality, Matlakala Nondzaba was joined by MEC for Public Works Saliva Molapisi during the Letsema Campaign in Koster where they patched potholes.
The Mayor of Kgetlengrivier, Thabo Jacobs also joined the war on potholes campaign as declared by the MEC earlier this month.
The Executive Mayor said the district had a legislative mandate to support local municipalities, especially struggling ones, and road infrastructure was one of the key areas identified for intervention.
MEC Molapisi earlier this month launched a campaign to fix roads and patch potholes throughout the provinces critical infrastructure.
The Executive Mayor said Koster town was an important link between Botswana and Gauteng province and proper roads will stimulate local economic development.
“This a good start but a lot still needs to be done and I trust that the municipality will finish what we started”, said the Cllr Nondzaba.
The Executive Mayor was also joined by her MMC’s, Kgetlengrivier councilors and officials from both municipalities.
