Warning: Job Scam Alert from North-West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development

The North-West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (NWDARD) has issued a stern warning to the public regarding a fraudulent job scam. Job seekers have recently received SMS notifications inviting them for interviews for a “Records” position, accompanied by reference number VRY567-451. The messages claim that the interviews will be conducted at the Head Office in Mmabatho.

However, the NWDARD categorically denies any association with these messages and reference numbers. The Department emphasizes that all official job vacancies from the North-West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will always bear the distinct “NWDARD” characteristic in their references.

It is important to note that legitimate job postings from the Department are typically advertised through official channels, including the department’s website (dard.nwpg.gov.za), its social media pages, and print media. Applications for these positions are typically required to be either hand-delivered or posted to specified departmental offices.

The NWDARD urges job seekers to exercise caution and thoroughly verify any employment opportunities they come across that seem suspicious or out of the ordinary. Official communication from the Department should always be the primary source of information regarding job openings.

The public is urged not to accept job interview invitations for positions they have not applied for and should be cautious about job offers for which they were never interviewed. Furthermore, individuals who receive such fraudulent messages are encouraged to report them to the relevant authorities, including law enforcement agencies.

If you have concerns or need to verify the legitimacy of a job opportunity, please contact Ms. Gabaiphiwe Leboko at 018 389 5229 for further assistance.

The NWDARD is committed to ensuring the safety and security of job seekers and maintaining the integrity of its recruitment process. Stay vigilant and be cautious of suspicious job offers to protect yourself from potential scams.
