Young Athletes Shine on Day 2 of the North West School Sports Athletics Championships

The North West School Sports Athletics Championships continued to showcase young talent at McArthur Stadium, with the first round of awards recognizing outstanding performances in various disciplines.

Girls 13 Years – Long Jump

The long jump event saw Sefehle Entle claim the gold medal, while Moreke Tlhonolofatso secured silver. Erasmus Mia-May and Malebadi Reotshepile both finished in third place, earning bronze medals.

Boys 11 Years – Long Jump

In the boys’ 11-year-old category, Flenies Rayden leaped his way to victory, earning gold. Strauss Abraham followed closely to take silver, and De Beer Joshua claimed the bronze medal.

Girls 13 Years – 1500m Walk

The endurance of young walkers was put to the test, with Nyehgule Thulisiwe emerging victorious in the 1500m walk. Mtshene Lerato secured silver, while Seribe Lethabo rounded off the podium with bronze.

Boys 13 Years – 1500m Walk

In the boys’ division, Moller Hattingh took gold with an impressive performance. Williamson Zander followed in second place with silver, while Hawenga Karabo claimed the bronze medal.

Girls 13 Years – 200m Hurdles

The sprint hurdles event saw a dominant performance from Mulder Mine, who took home the gold. Da Silva Declynne finished second with silver, and Kruger Mikaela secured the bronze.

Boys 13 Years – 200m Hurdles

In an exciting race, Molete Ofentse displayed exceptional form to win gold. Van Staden Lean earned silver, while Van Wyk Evaan clinched the bronze medal.

Girls 12 Years – 150m Hurdles

Rossouw Maeize sprinted her way to gold in the 150m hurdles, while Smit Lyla finished second to earn silver. De Kock Mischeke took the bronze medal.

Boys 12 Years – 150m Hurdles

The boys’ event saw Shopo Reotshepile claim victory and the gold medal. Igno Ernest followed with silver, and Morgernoodt Dennis took home the bronze.
