The Rustenburg Local Municipality has extended heartfelt congratulations to its Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Local Economic Development, Cllr Thabang Rampou, after he was honoured with the Best Councillor Award in Supporting Education at the prestigious National Teachers Awards (NTAs) in the North West.

Cllr Rampou received the accolade in recognition of his efforts to champion education-driven initiatives and foster partnerships that empower both learners and educators in the province.

North West MEC for Education, Viola Motsomi, commended Rampou’s dedication, saying the award was a true reflection of his passion for education.
“This recognition reflects his unwavering commitment to advancing education and supporting initiatives that empower learners and educators across the province. We are proud to celebrate this milestone with him,” Motsomi said.
The municipality hailed Rampou’s recognition as a significant achievement that highlights the importance of collaboration between government, education stakeholders, and communities in shaping a brighter future for learners.
