Bojanala District Shines with Prestigious Runner-Up Award at CIAGOL-SA Ceremony

The Bojanala Platinum District Municipality has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the runner-up position at the Chartered Institute of Audit Governance Oversight (CIAGOL-SA) awards, held on 27 September 2024, in Durban. The municipality earned this prestigious honor in the category of “Keeping Auditors Accountable, Culminating in Improved, Sustained, and Good Audit Outcomes,” bringing pride to the North West Business Unit.

The Speaker of Council, Cllr. Lucky Madiba, accepted the award on behalf of the municipality. Expressing his delight, Cllr. Madiba highlighted the key areas where the municipality excelled: “Our specific areas of excellence are leadership that transcended organizational boundaries to promote growth, partnership, and engagement through inspired action and visionary leadership. We were also recognized for our progressive efforts in implementing consequence management where needed.”

This achievement underscores Bojanala’s commitment to accountability and sound governance. While this runner-up award is a significant step forward, the municipality has set its sights on the ultimate goal of securing the top position in future, aiming to surpass this year’s overall winners, the Western Cape.
